Holidays are a great time to get away. This time of year, when you are making plans and may be less focused, is also a great time for scammers to steal your money.
When making plans to travel, protect yourself by following these steps:
- Check for complaints about companies before doing business with them
- Payments and reservations should be made through trusted, verified platforms
- Seek recommendations for good travel agencies, rentals, services and hotels
- Use a credit card for stronger dispute protection
- Don’t be fooled by offers that seem too good to be true
